MEET THE TEAM

life story
I grew up in Marysville, OH as a middle child in a family of 5. I was heavily involved with my youth group, FCA, soccer, and dabbled in singing/performing. I gave my life to Jesus and was baptized when I was 14 years old. To this day, it has been the best decision I’ve ever made.
After high school, I went to Ohio Valley University in Vienna, WV where I thought I was going to graduate to become a kindergarten teacher, but God had other plans for me. I felt the clear call to full-time ministry and never looked back. I ended up graduating with a Bachelors in Bible and a Minor in both Youth Ministry and Missions. While at college, I sang in a traveling singing group called “Express” and played NCAA Division 2 Soccer. I also interned 2 full years at a church and was very involved in a social club.
Upon college graduation, I married my beautiful wife, Micah (second best decision I’ve ever made), and we moved to Kalamazoo, MI where I ministered at a church for 5 years. While in Michigan, we had our twin daughters, Jael & Ruth. Although we are Buckeyes through and through, we loved and were loved dearly by the folks up in Kalamazoo, but God was calling us to something different. The specific call to start a new church for new people was clear to us and so in 2014, we moved to Powell, OH to start Good News Church.
Since we’ve been back in Powell, we’ve had another daughter, Esther, and are due with our first son December 16th 2018. In no particular order, I love things like spending time with family, trying new food, music, hiking, fishing, watching OSU sports, audio books, and meeting new people. I am passionate about what God has done in my heart and life, and sharing that Good News with other people, regardless of where they are at in their walk with God. I look forward to meeting you soon too. If you have any questions about me, I hope you will ask and that we can chat more in person.
god-sized dream
My God sized dream for Good News Church is that people who felt far away from God will find the truth of Jesus to be the best news ever for their life, which will lead them into a life of full surrender to Jesus and His will for their life. God has been doing this so far, and I can’t wait to see the cumulative impact over the course of the decades to come. I hope you’ll join us on that journey!
