Lead Pastor

life story

I grew up in a small, rural town in Southeastern Ohio called Crown City. My brother and I had the distinction of being the “pastor’s kids” in the village we grew up in and, as such, literally grew up in the church. I gave my life to Jesus at a young age and there was never really a time in my life where Jesus wasn’t a big part of it. I felt like God was calling me into ministry when I was a teenager. But, having watched my dad go through the ups and downs of ministry, I was not too excited about the possibility. So, after graduating high school, I decided to pursue my dream of being a doctor and enrolled at Marshall University’s Biology Pre-Med program. After more than three years of chasing my own dream, I stopped running from my calling, switched my major to Education and began taking ministry classes through the Wesleyan Church I was a part of. Once I graduated from Marshall, I moved to Columbus Ohio in 2001 to be the worship and small groups pastor of a church plant. Since then, I have served on staff at a large church in the Columbus area, planted a new church called Public House in Hilliard, and worked as the Assistant District Superintendent of the Wesleyan Church in Ohio while also doing church consulting on the side. In 2016, I married the love of my life, Erin and we now have 2 beautiful little girls, Elly and JoJo. I am a HUGE sports fan, especially football and love to cook. I tell people often that if I weren’t in ministry, I would probably go back to culinary school and open my own restaurant. I am passionate about sharing the hope of Jesus with as many people as will listen. And I am equally as passionate about equipping the body of Christ to live out their mandate to love (God and others) and their mission to share the Gospel by challenging them to invest their time, unique talents, and treasures for the Kingdom.

god-sized dream

My God-sized dream is to see the church genuinely become the living, breathing and active body of Christ. I want to inspire, empower and equip people to take their next steps of faith until they become fully devoted disciples of Jesus. I envision a church full of believers that take ownership of their own faith journey, developing deep roots into God’s Word, diving into life-giving communities and reaching out to share their story with others who so desperately need to hear it. It’s nothing new. It’s simply a reclaiming of the model that 1st century believers used to change the world.
