Reopening Plan

Pastor Cody Balch provides an update on the reopening plan for Good News Church.

Reopening Graphic for Good News Church

*NOTE*: No one will ever be made to participate in any setting that they are not comfortable with. These are all voluntary options and phases that each person and family must decide what is best for their situation and comfort level.

PHASE #1: SMALL GROUP SETTINGS (STARTING: JULY 1ST)

  • We will encourage people to intentionally engage in small group settings through our GNCommunities, Extended Ministries, and additional Watch Parties (watching the online Sunday service together) that may be hosted.

  • We will encourage more families to intentionally engage with other families through things like shared meals, play dates, and times set aside to take communion.

  • Leaders of any of these group settings will be allowed to determine what they are comfortable with and what restrictions or precautions are best for their gatherings.

PHASE #2: DIFFERENT IN-PERSON SUNDAY SERVICE OPTIONS (STARTING: AUGUST 9TH)
NO GNKIDS MINISTRY: We will offer a 9 AM in-person service at the GNChurch building that will NOT offer any GNKids Ministry options.

  • The building surfaces will be sanitized prior to people’s arrival.

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available around the building.

  • Kids can come to this service with parents, but the child(ren) must be with a parent the entire time that they are in the building.

  • Masks will be mandatory for all at the 9 am service, except for those who are 10 years old or under, those who cannot wear one for a health reason, and those who are leading on stage. We will provide free masks for those who need them.

  • No coffee (refreshments) or food will be offered to limit touchpoints.

  • Communion will not be passed around as normal, but when offered, it will be done in a way that limits shared points of contact.

  • We will discourage making any personal contact during the 9 am service.

WITH GNKIDS MINISTRY: We will offer a 10:45 AM in-person service at the GNChurch building that WILL have GNKids Ministry options.

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available around the building.

  • GNKids Volunteers will be asked to wear a mask at all times. Otherwise, masks will not be mandatory at the 10:45 am service, but will be offered for free to anyone who wants/needs one.

  • GNKids will be offered in a way that will try to limit any unnecessary spread of germs, including extra sanitizing and hand washing breaks.

  • Color-coded stickers must be worn at all times by all people to help indicate each person's comfort level in regards to personal space and shared contact.

  • No coffee (refreshments) or food will be offered to limit touchpoints.

  • Communion will not be passed around, but when offered, it will be done in way that limits shared points of contact.

PHASE #3: IDENTICAL IN-PERSON SUNDAY SERVICE OPTIONS (STARTING: TBD)
Both Sunday services will be offered at the GNChurch building and will have identical options and guidelines, which WILL include our GNKids Ministry.

Details and start date are TBD.
